You don’t have to be Emeril Lagasse to taste and critique delicious foods at the best restaurants in town. And with a food culture like Louisiana, we know that good food is to eating as air is to breathing.
The Acadian at Southwind’s signature Taste & Critique program is truly a gem of its own kind, inspired by our very own resident-foodies. At our community, you don’t need a magazine column or a famous blog to become your own food critic.
Our Taste & Critique program includes entertaining group outings to local restaurants, eateries, and cafés to taste and critique the best of the best in appetizers, entrees, desserts, and drinks. Whether it’s discussing the tanginess of the house-made bruschetta, the fork-tender and slow-roasted prime rib, the perfect brownie-to-ice cream ratio for dessert, or the notes of cherry and spice in a good cabernet, the conversations are always lively and often long-winded!
With Taste and Critique, our residents can indulge their inner foodies by trying new and different local bites at trendy new eateries. We even have themed food tastings to explore different cultural palettes. Or they can revisit classic favorites at the local shrimp po-boy shop that’s been around for years.
No matter the place or flavors discussed, residents thoroughly enjoy getting involved in the community food scene and interacting socially over a slice of homemade cheesecake. An adventure of the taste buds awaits!
